WARDOGS Alpha: Earlier Tests and Signup Changes

Why the old signup page still mentions pre-alpha

The community signup page continues to describe limited pre-alpha invitations and asks players to wishlist WARDOGS and join Discord. Its wording explains the earlier recruitment process. ^{[03]EVIDENCE / 03WARDOGS community signupOpen source (opens in a new tab)}

The August 11 pre-order announcement gives the reason for the change: BULKHEAD said it had reached a limit on Steam keys it could distribute externally. It moved beta selection to Steam's own Playtest signup, alongside guaranteed pre-order access. The September test announcement continues that approach. ^{[02]EVIDENCE / 02WARDOGS official news: pre-order and test announcementsOpen source (opens in a new tab) [01]EVIDENCE / 01WARDOGS Closed Beta 02 announcementOpen source (opens in a new tab)}

If you are trying to play now, follow the current beta access guide. An old alpha signup confirmation is not the current set of joining instructions.

What happened to early pre-alpha cash?

The developer FAQ explicitly says cash earned in early pre-alpha playtests will not transfer to the full game. That statement is limited to the early tests it names. ^{[04]EVIDENCE / 04WARDOGS developer FAQOpen source (opens in a new tab)}
