What the reported setup actually used

Reddit user Corrupted_Lion describes flying with a RadioMaster Boxer, connecting it as a USB joystick and assigning controls in the HOTAS menu under controller settings. They report using switches for flares and guns and needing to invert pitch during a shooting-range check. Another owner in the same discussion says they had less success with bindings. The thread therefore supports a working example, with setup differences still unresolved. It should not be expanded into a claim that all radio controllers, sticks or separate throttles work. Check the hardware you already have

Before taking passengers, test each flight axis in a practice area, including its direction and neutral position. Check buttons separately, then restart the game to see whether the bindings persist. Record the device model and build when sharing results so another player can reproduce them.

Do not buy a new HOTAS setup solely on this one report. The controller support page gives the broader official input statement.
